gLove Story Dolls v2.0

In 2006, with the help of my daughter, I started collecting lost gloves, washing them, and turning them into dolls. Dubbed "gLove Story Dolls" by my mom, they feature button eyes and yarn hair. Over the years I continued to pick up a random glove here and there, but didn't have the same dedication to the project as I had early on. I still have a few dozen gLove Story Dolls, and nearly as many found gloves ready for their transformation. Now, 13 years after I started making them, I am rebooting the gLove Story Dolls! This v2.0 will still...

2017 Reflections

As I reflect on 2017, I feel proud of my accomplishments, many instigated by the loss of my mother in February. Her legacy inspires me to transform the grief of her passing into the energy I need to focus my efforts to improve my life every day.  Her health had deteriorated quickly and her passing was not unexpected, I felt relief at the news, a memorial would be planned for May. How My Signature Line Grows

Inspiration for my signature line of notebook paper fabric zip bags comes to me from many different places. Current events in my life lend themselves to new words or phrases that become new products, relatable to folks with similar experiences. My retail customers are excited to see my products at events and make suggestions that they know would be popular with their friends or family members. I jot these ideas down on the spot and add them to the on-going list I keep near my work table. I consult this list when developing new collections and always appreciate the insightful suggestions from...

June is shaping up to be a trio of celebrations right in my own neighborhood and I couldn't be happier about that! Running 3 consecutive Friday nights in June, I will be participating in...

Women In My Neighborhood - Azie from Verdigreen Home

In this new feature, Women In My Neighborhood, I recognize women in downtown Montclair, where I live and work, who inspire, educate, or work here as well. This first installment features Azie from Verdigreen Home, a family-owned and operated shop located at 182 Glenridge Avenue. It's home to local artisans and upcycled vintage décor, complimented by a do-it-yourself workshop where they stock Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan and other related products, so fun! I asked Azie a few questions about what inspires her when she's consulting and designing. For more information about Verdigreen Home be sure to check out their...
